What is culture and how does it affect a person’s life and soul?
Wikipedia defines culture as:
“Culture (from the Latin cultura stemming from colere, meaning "to cultivate")[1] generally refers to patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activities significance and importance. Cultures can be "understood as systems of symbols and meanings that even their creators contest, that lack fixed boundaries, that are constantly in flux, and that interact and compete with one another"[2] Culture can be defined as all the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population that are passed down from generation to generation. Culture has been called "the way of life for an entire society."[3] As such, it includes codes of manners, dress, language, religion, rituals, norms of behavior such as law and morality, and systems of belief as well as the art. Cultural anthropologists most commonly use the term "culture" to refer to the universal human capacity and activities to classify, codify and communicate their experiences materially and symbolically. Scholars have long viewed this capacity as a defining feature of humans (although some primatologists have identified aspects of culture such as learned tool making and use among humankind's closest relatives in the animal kingdom).[4]”
There exist many cultures around the world each with its own character. The cultures affect the soul’s perspective of life and behaviors. Ones soul develops and changes based on the culture a person live in. A soul get experiences, knowledge and wisdom from the culture the soul live in.
In order to get as much wisdom as possible it is a good idea to try to live in different cultures and to learn from each culture.
Based on my own experiences and life I have learned things from each culture I have lived in, everything from different countries, nomad life, village life, city life and life in total isolation.
Each culture with its own character and positive and negative flavors brings the soul in different state of consciousness. To understand and be part of a culture might take some time. I remember moving from a small village in Sweden to Oslo, the capital of Norway, as a young man and experienced some drastic changes in my soul. It was like coming to a new planet with all its cultural treasures.
After having lived in bigger cities and smaller villages this first cultural change feels now like a small change and awakening in my life.
I recommend trying to live in other cultures in order to learn and understand other souls and bring more knowledge and wisdom to your capacity as a soul healer.
Peace and love to you.
